Medical Assistants and Clinics

There is an enormous deficiency of medical assistants and clinics. The hospital of St. John of God in Barcelona began in 2005. A program of the Brotherhood with St. John of God hospital in Mabesseneh. This town is located near Lunsar town. With commitment of sending medical, nurses, and technical volunteers as well as continues collaboration in service of the pediatric unit.

Hospital Space

The hospital counts 196 beds, 36 of which are for infants.Although the occupation can get to be 72 because each bed can be occupied by 2 patients. There is an average of 30 in patients in pediatrics. Most of the infants are less than 5 years of age.

Hospital Cost

The main problem is that most of the population cannot confront the cost of the hospital assistants even though they are much more economic than the few hospitals of the state. For that reason specific programs were established to help cover some expenses of attendance such as malnutrition and lymphoma.Nevertheless some programs have not covered these such as Malaria, Infections, Meningitis, Anemia ect.

Support a Treatment

In order to cover the cost of hospitalization and treatment that is not covered by any source The Support a Treatment program was established. Its goal is that no child remains without obtaining hospital assistant due to lack of economic means and to obtain the families go to the hospital. Many families do not go or goes behind schedule when practically there is no possibility to save the life of the child.
